Story: Basil works as a mail carrier and lives at the Lonely Moon Inn and Boarding House. He also happens to be one of Ivy's only living relatives, so when she must send her new charge Mint away to protect him from Acacia, she sends him to Basil. Basil is a jolly older man, one who enjoys bad jokes and pipe tobacco. He is rather infatuated with Rose and does not keep this a secret. He is constantly being rebuked for lighting his pipe indoors.
