There used to be a time when tweets

There used to be a time when tweets were just tweets but, very evidently, these times aren't any more.Last week, a couple words posted on popular social media platform Twitter - they did not even meet the previous 140-word limit - blew the cover off what we thought was freedom of speech off and laid bare the awful truth: you shut up and receive together with China's program or you catch curved. The NBA has had a relationship with China and its own authorities for several decades. Yet the posting of a single tweet - that was deleted shortly after, mind you threatens to ruin all of the league has worked so hard to construct. It has been a really rocky week for the NBA, whose commissioner Adam Silver has been working tirelessly to retain some semblance of a partnership with China in what many believe to be caving to dictatorship.Silver has tried to appease both sides by defending the right to free speech, however that brought about even more of a backlash and there is no telling where things could go in the forthcoming days. "At the exact same time, we realize that both countries have different political systems and beliefs. And like many global brands, we deliver our company to areas with distinct political systems across the globe," he said in a statement.

The television network CCTV of china is endorsed by the government and they have announced plans to examine all of communications and partnerships with the NBA. While the staff is going to be training at Gen.G's Los Angeles headquarters, there is still a possibility of things being impacted on that front.

While the nation enabled the Lakers vs Nets games to go on, there was no press availability for coaches or players since the league thought it best to not have teams talk to any sockets as it might have been"unjust to ask them to tackle these matters in actual time. "There were not any anthems sung prior to the game either, with different outlets noting just as much, but NBA PR has explained with asserts which the league had never played with anthems at China anyway.
