MLB The Show 18 Patch 1.08 Out Now
MLB The Show 18 obtained a massive update now, and anybody who plays the game online ought to be thrilled. San Diego Studio released Patch 1.08 only in time to the beginning of May, hoping to improve online play quality and rejuvenate the participant card content located within Diamond Dynasty, The Show's hottest mode.
Most of all, the patch dealt with a primary compaint by avid online gamers. The PCI (plate policy indicator), used when hitting to try and square up the pitch, wasn't responding properly since it had in previous editions of The Show. Many gamers proved that the PCI would move on its own for no apparent reason, causing a great deal of frustrating popups and ground balls which, using a true PCI system, would be line drives or home runs.
Additionally, players were upset with how slow the pitches looked coming in, especially in contrast to previous year's games. Flamethrowers like Aroldis Chapman and Craig Kimbrel were basically ineffective due to fastballs appearing like frisbees arriving in. It seems that the programmers were listening to their customers. Here are the official gameplay patch notes from TheShowNation and SDS.
Increased pitch rates within Diamond Dynasty (both Head to Head and Versus CPU games). Repair for a rare event where the outfielder would not play a catch (or run across the ball) on firmly hit ground balls which get through the infield. Adjustments designed to allow more user management for infielders on soft line pushes only above their head. This permits users to break out and run for the ball, when they occasionally felt locked . Fix for a rare issue in which the catcher would come from his cover position (covering dwelling ), not letting branching throws to the plate if a runner is trying to score.
On top of the gameplay fixes, SDS put out fresh content for Diamond Dynasty. All-Star Legend Darin Erstad (90 overall) will be the May rated seasons reward. He can be earned by climbing the leaderboard to World Series level (900 position or greater ) in ranked seasons. Two new flashbacks, Greg Holland and Ichiro Suzuki are also making their way into the game. The two of these cards could be got by going 12-0 in battle royale. Obviously, all of these cards will eventually be available for sale on the market, but Erstad will not be available until June 1.
